Greeting another new day from the upper balcony.
Our next stop was at the Kwasi Tenten congregation. It was a little slower starting. As we walked through the village, we could see the families gathering for breakfast and bathing up for the day.
A few smiling faces showed up to visit with and wait for the others to arrive.

It is common to see people drinking water from these bags. It is a cheap method of getting clean water to the population.
Dad served and Joseph translated
You can see here that the kids are distracted by something outside the church. There were a few village kids there hanging around outside the door. It seemed like a few of the kids started to tell them to go away. George went to welcome them in. They said they were too dirty to come to church, but George said it didn't matter and they joined the services as well.
The Kwasi Tenten children
I thought this was a picture of me with the moms from the congregation. I was surprised when I later looked at my pictures to see three more had joined. :)
The mom in white is married to the man on the left and the other two ladies are married to his brothers.
I had to smile as I walked out of the church to find these kids playing spike! It felt like I was right at home as it's a familiar scene at the Elk River church as well.
A smiling village woman. She had quite a few young children that were giggling on the front porch as I walked by.
I'd asked this sweet village girl if I could take her picture. Her dad was inside this building and came charging out talking in a gruff voice. I was worried he was upset with me, but I guess he was just teasing! Whew.
This young man managed to find a stroller to fashion into a cart for his goods. I imagine it makes his work day much more comfortable.
We stopped for lunch at "Jon Bloomquist's favorite pizza place."
So.. I had to try the pizza.
Afterwards, we visited this market. It wasn't quite as crazy as the market we stopped at in Togo.
We made it this close to the ocean and not another step further. sigh. It was delightful to see, even from this distance!

Team Meeting
It's a lovely evening! It felt delightful to get out for a walk after many days of van rides and services.
Evening snack out under the canopy. In the video on the left, Joseph and George were showing me a game that the African girls commonly play.
Fresh mango and watermelon for snack. Yum! I never did have fresh mango. I'm thinking perhaps it wasn't in season, but I'm not sure. I never thought to ask for some!
The cats were out enjoying the lovely evening, too.
