We traveled to Bena plateau in the afternoon
The scenery was beautiful! I believe that is Agou Peak in the background.
People often plant teak trees here. They are harvested for their wood and can be very valuable.
I learned that these operate as a taxi service. They travel up and down their route, picking up and dropping off passengers. They will need to add and remove from the load as they go.
Lunch at our motel.
A papaya tree
The front of our motel. As you can see here, the hotels have all been like this one with open hallways. The rooms each have an individual air conditioning unit.
Village scene
From the top of Agou Peak. It was a little foggy today, but the views are beautiful!
Meeting the congregation members of Bena plateau. I love this beautiful village and was disappointed that our visit was cut short by the rain. This is a fairly new congregation.. Emmanuel was traveling with a van load of people and they happened to stop at a roadside stand. While there, they began to visit about faith and some of the people there repented. That was the beginning of this congregation.
This was a passing villager that was willing to let me photograph her with her adorable children.
Tero served and Sheriff translated. As soon as Tero said Amen, the rains came pouring down.
The three men on the far right were sitting under the tree in the background when we arrived and joined us for services.
When the rain started, we moved underneath this shelter that had a metal roof. As the rain fell harder and harder, we had to move in closer and closer.
Time to leave. Emmanuel is working up the courage to dash from the shelter into the car.
The height of this load completely amazes me! He's driving down curvy mountain roads in the rain! How does he not topple over??
When we have a few minutes of Wifi at the restaurant..
Sorry these aren't all in perfect order! A picture of another hotel room. They are all pretty similar.
