I loved waking up in the morning and pausing for a minute on the balcony to absorb the sights and sounds of the city around me.
I wonder how long it takes to organize all these peanuts so perfectly. I don't think I'd begin my head balancing practice with this load!
Think he's hoping for a ride to Peki?
A lumber yard that looks a little more like the one at home.
We stopped for a light snack.
The local cell phone store
Our sweet welcoming committee at the Peki congregation
Tero served us and Joseph translated.
The Peki congregation. This is the area where Joseph and George grew up.
It was a very warm afternoon and I think we were all feeling a little sleepy.
This villager was busy removing dried corn from the cob.

It's a beautiful area!
Pretty much everything goes on the head!
We stopped to check out the Peki church building project.

This is Justice Bobi. He is the landlord of this land that the church building will be on. We found him here, resting under the shelter in the heat of the day.
If we lived here in Ghana, perhaps Bob's carpentry shop would look like this! The workers in both countries usually rest from 12 to 230 (in the hottest part of the day). I stopped by during their rest time.
We stopped by an African tourist trap. The people here are busy weaving kente cloth. It is a type of weaving that was developed here in Ghana. It's very time consuming to make and if you own an outfit made from kente cloth, it is only worn to special occasions.
This is a water station. Most villages have something similar to this. If you look closely, there is a faucet that is higher up on the building - this one is used to fill your water bowl when it's already on your head.

Another building project underway
We stopped for lunch, again on the Volta River, at the Afrikiko River Front Resort.
We decided this turkey would be fine for eating as it looked "well cooked".
This is a traditional Ghana dish. It has hard boiled egg with a gravy made from
tomato, onion, pepper, green pepper and eggs whipped into it with boiled yams on the side.
